If you're really good...

...you'll get whatever you want. These past couple weeks have been KILLER in my salon! I just read an article about the percent of women who color their own hair at home. 80% of women in America do! Ladies, please! I know some people can't afford it, and hair services are a luxery, but there are places were you can get a decend cut or color that's affordable. A cosmetology school for instance. I just feel like my field is slowly dying. 1 out of 5 salon's actually make it! We are artists and it's a shame to see many talented hairstylists still working at Starbucks or a department store just so they can pay their bills. I don't want that to happen to me because I truly love my job. Last night was a very great night. These past couple of months I have been feeling out of "it" at work. Maybe it's just cause it's slow and I'm waiting around for clients. I pass my cards out like crazy and get a couple of responses. Anyways, last night half our salon went to an evening with Nick Arrojo. He's on What Not to Wear on TLC. His words and works were very inspiring and much needed at this time! He does beautiful work and it's not just tv magic that does the makeover's on people. He did it right in front of us. Really amazing hairstylist.

What you do today will help you tomorrow.

My little vent for the month.

The weekday's are a bust, but the weekends are great. Last weekend my mom and I had great bonding time. She took me and my empty wallet to downtown LA for some shopping. We did stop after that... we hit Beverly Center, Melrose, and The Grove. We really know how to shop. On a budget too! This weekend was great. Friday I skipped out on a show at one of my favorite venue's to eat sushi with some old friends of mine. I really miss them, and I have been neglecting them I can say. We ate this tasty green tea ice cream that was in tempura. It sounds crazy but it was so great! I was at UCLA with my bff's and we had a great time. I love talking to people from high school! Congrat's Britt on taking you LSAT. Also congrat's Ariel for making homecoming court! Happy birthday Jess, I can't wait for TBS!

LA FASHION WEEK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!
