If you're really good...

...you'll get whatever you want. These past couple weeks have been KILLER in my salon! I just read an article about the percent of women who color their own hair at home. 80% of women in America do! Ladies, please! I know some people can't afford it, and hair services are a luxery, but there are places were you can get a decend cut or color that's affordable. A cosmetology school for instance. I just feel like my field is slowly dying. 1 out of 5 salon's actually make it! We are artists and it's a shame to see many talented hairstylists still working at Starbucks or a department store just so they can pay their bills. I don't want that to happen to me because I truly love my job. Last night was a very great night. These past couple of months I have been feeling out of "it" at work. Maybe it's just cause it's slow and I'm waiting around for clients. I pass my cards out like crazy and get a couple of responses. Anyways, last night half our salon went to an evening with Nick Arrojo. He's on What Not to Wear on TLC. His words and works were very inspiring and much needed at this time! He does beautiful work and it's not just tv magic that does the makeover's on people. He did it right in front of us. Really amazing hairstylist.

What you do today will help you tomorrow.

My little vent for the month.

The weekday's are a bust, but the weekends are great. Last weekend my mom and I had great bonding time. She took me and my empty wallet to downtown LA for some shopping. We did stop after that... we hit Beverly Center, Melrose, and The Grove. We really know how to shop. On a budget too! This weekend was great. Friday I skipped out on a show at one of my favorite venue's to eat sushi with some old friends of mine. I really miss them, and I have been neglecting them I can say. We ate this tasty green tea ice cream that was in tempura. It sounds crazy but it was so great! I was at UCLA with my bff's and we had a great time. I love talking to people from high school! Congrat's Britt on taking you LSAT. Also congrat's Ariel for making homecoming court! Happy birthday Jess, I can't wait for TBS!

Bananas and nuts

I havent updated in foreverrrr! i've been busy working, and doing little outings.

Went to a little art show in Echo Park. It was for Blek le Rat, he's a graffiti artist. I wasn't too impressed ehh. After we went to go get some Diddy Reese and visit Brittany at UCLA, but she wasnt THERE! haha
Another adventure: Danielle found a blind dog and needed to save it :) So we went to the Pasadena humaine society to save it there. I hate the dog pound because there are so many dogs there, it's SO sad.

Look at that pretty house in Pasadena...ooooh I want to live there!

Went to the beach on Monday! It was so nice, but I got sun burnt. There were dolphins, a seal, and a whale there! I love whales, it was beautiful to watch it.

I got free tickets to Bamboozle Left from a guy at work. I got to see my Metro Station again....... i love them!!I went with my brother and there were a bunch bands that I've never heard of. We split up half the time so we can watch our own people.
On Sunday I saw The Maine in concert at HOB. John is sooo good looking. We then watch Family Force 5, I've never heard of them. They were SO fun. They played music that was like punk rock and crunk it was really weird but really fun.
He wanted to pose like that haha

So pretty much I've just been busy with work all the time. Going to Beat it tonight with some girls from work it should be fun! I love work

I had a nice Easter! First I went to church with Brittany and then we ate at Flappy Jack's with her family. I had delicious chocolate chip pancakes that were totally not good for my diet :) They were worth it. It was a really funny breakfast and car ride. Fat arm bunny haha. Then I went to church at St. Lorenzo with my family. I havent been to that church in a loooong time. It was very different, but I liked it.
Today i had a nice day off. I went to Pasadena with my momma and shopped around. I got this leather jacket from h&m and I really love it and cant wiat to wear it. Too bad it's SO hot outside lately. We had some cupcakes from Dots mmmmmmm the bomb. I also colored my hair. I wanted it like Rachel Bilson in last month's NYLON. Oh i cannot forget on Monday I ate Thai food with my drama friends. It was nice to see them, very nicccccccce!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 08

I'm so lucky! One of the owners of the salon I work at gave me his ALL- ACCESS pass for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I was lucky enough to volunteer last year for it, but this season I didn't get a response. So I went last night after I got off work. Drove to Culver City and arrived at Smashbox Studios around 6. I missed the Lauren Conrad show, but saw the pictures and I don't think I missed much. I didn't even know what to do I was like in another world. I then started to walk around because Victor told me to use it to see backstage and everything. So I caught a show at 6. It was MAGGIE BARRY FOR XUBÁZ . A little weird clothing, the typical runway stuff. The hair was awesome. They wore huge buns and weird hats- i loved it! I then caught the Nicky Hilton show. I wasnt expecting much even though it was at the Main Tent. The clothes were adorable!! There was alot of leggings, boots, and scarves just like this fall season. Also alot of black and white going on. Paris and the rest of the Hilton family was there as well. I also saw the whole Laguna Beach/The Hills crew: Lo, Audrina, Whitney, Stephan, Frankie, Brody, and even Kristin. Anyways I LOVE the atmospheare of LA fashion week! Here are the picture- I only had my fisheye camera and my camera phone! Somehow- I totally forgot my digital.

I also went to go visit Brittany at UCLA this weekend. We ate sushi in Westwood and then went to go to LAX to pick up her roomate, and almost died in a car accident. I screamed for dear life haha.

&one more picture of Shepard Fairey and I.

ALVA: 77 Neo- Retro

Last night was I went to an art show with Nick and Jessica in Little Ethiopia on Fairfax. We got there early so we decided to try out Ethiopia food. I called my boss Brenda to see if she knew any good places because she knows so many restarants. They basically all look the same so we just decided to go to this one with little huts inside. The place was cool and everything but we didnt know what to order so we told our waitress and so she brought us this huge place with a little bit of everything on it. I really had no idea what anything was except for the lamb part. The rest was AWFUL SO SO SO SO NASTY. I CAN'T BELIVE IT. Okay, well the first couple bites were okay, you know different. Man, then our stomachs started hurting just looking at it. We ate like nothing I felt kinda rude. So then we went to Starbucks and walked over the gallery.

So the Gallery was for Tony Alva. Tony Alva was the first guy to catch air out of a pool on a skateboard. He was also the part of the lords of dogtown. I remember I loved that movie when it came out! So we looked at the art that was there. Nick bought a poster and an Alva deck and had him sign it. I got to meet Shepard Fairy, the Obey artist, and Tony Alva himself. I really liked the atmosphear alot and I want to go to another one :)
Myself with Tony Alva & Shepard Fairey

The design Shep made:

The posters were onsale for $80, and I just looked on ebay and they're going for $299 at the least! I should have got one.

& the picture that made him famous :)

at the disco

So I saw Metro Station twice last weekenddd. Once at the Glasshouse with Dana from the salon. Then with Jessica at the Troubadour in Hollywoodododod. They're so fun to watch I just love being right next to the stage and dancing allllll night :) Oh, Cobra Starship played too... Gabeeee so sexy. They're good and that was my third time seeing them. I had the opportuntiy of a lifetime to take a picture with my love Adrien Greiener ....BUT MY CAMERA BATTERY FELL OUT. All I got to do was simply caress his back hahah.

This weekend- or week actually- I did nothing but relax. I only worked on Saturday really. It was actaully a weird week. I experienced a let down with a friend of mine. I never really get into dissagrements or anything with my friends, so this was all new to me, and upsetting. It's overwith so whatever.

Tonight was a magical night in Hollywood. It was the 80th annual Academy Awards. I watched the full day coverage starting at 9am. It's tradition for me :) My best dressed choices for the night goes to:
Heidi Klum, Penelope Cruz, and Jennifer Garner!

Helen we need to make these cupcakes!! Arent they the cutest?
